The Space

​

The 960 sq.' Cottage offers two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a relatively new queen mattress and plenty of closet space. The second bedroom has two twin size beds, a desk and a dresser. The kitchen is fully equipped with all that is needed to prepare your own freshly made meals. The Jacuzzi steam shower is great for refreshing oneself after a long day of play in the outdoors before settling in for a cozy and comfortable night. On chilly or damp evenings, the wood stove is perfect. The outside deck is wonderful for star gazing the velvet sky.

A wrap-around, 700 sq.' deck includes a propane grill and seating (in season) for lounging and eating outside at an umbrella-covered table or within the sizable screen room.  The deck is gated and secure for your children of reasonable age as well as pre-permitted canine.

Adirondack Star Ridge Cottage is equipped with fiber optic high speed wireless (av. speeds 35-50mb/sec).  We highly recommend the space for both your work as much as your streaming entertainment.  Join the digital nomad crowd amongst the beautiful Adirondack Mountains!

 

A flat screen Smart TV includes ROKU on guest mode as well as our NetFlix subscription and a DVD player.  There are board games, puzzles and assorted reading materials.  A wood stove with firewood included will keep you cozy even on the chilliest of days and nights. While you are out on your adventures, the radiant in-floor heating will be a welcome pleasure for your feet. In warmer seasons, full casement windows crank open for plenty of ventilation and light. There is NO air conditioning since most summer evenings cool down in the Adirondack Mountains and there is often a light breeze & lots of shading pines. Two ceiling fans and a box fan also help keep the air flowing inside.

A single canine under 25 lbs. MAY be considered but not guaranteed.  Please contact us to discuss pet policy and  applicable fee.

Absolutely NO smoking inside the Cottage. Smoking is only allowed outside on the deck.

The Area

​

Adirondack Star Ridge is located 5 miles from the rural town of Au Sable Forks where you will find a food market, bank (ATM), 2 restaurants and various shops. The Cottage is about 15 minutes from Whiteface Mountain and 30-35 minutes from Lake Placid and Plattsburgh. Burlington, VT is a short ferry ride away across scenic Lake Champlain, between the Adirondack Mountains of NY and the Green Mountains of VT. Another wonderful day trip option is Montreal. Both locations are about an hour and a half away! Passports required for Montreal & Quebec City (3-4 hrs).

 

Great hiking trails are available right outside the Cottage door providing several miles through thousands of acres of adjacent timberland full of logging skid trails! It will most likely ONLY be you and the wilderness---the likelihood of encountering another human are slim to none. Peace & quiet!!

 

We live on the property about a quarter mile away, close enough to be of assistance should you need or desire. Come stay at Adirondack Star Ridge Cottage be it two nights or several weeks! You won't regret it!
